From June 26th, 2007 until roughly August 19th, 2007, my daughter Martin and I will be cycling from Yellowknife in the general direction of Vancouver. The map below shows our planned route (green) and progress (red). Use the controls to zoom in.

    Here we must cross the Mackenzie River by ferry. Only reliable food store between Yellowknife and High Level.

    This is approximately the half-way point.

    Grande Prairie, AB
    First city on the route that is bigger than Yellowknife. The Peace River Valley is very deep and will be hard cycling.

    Aside from the Peace River Valley, we’ll encounter real hills starting here.

    From here to Hope, we can travel on converted railbed trails for most of the way – still need to work on selecting our exact route.

    Canada’s only desert. Stayed in motel in Osoyoos, BC on July 31st, 2007 and spent the day. Camped near Richter Pass on August 1st.

    Passed through Princeton, BC on August 3rd, 2007. Heading for Allison Pass in Manning Park (1341 m).

    Arrived here by bike at noon on August 6th. Took the SkyTrain the rest of the way into the city.
